Plumbing as a career
Plumbing is a trade where no two days look quite the same. One morning might be a blocked drain in an older Brisbane home, the afternoon a new gas cooktop or a hot water replacement on the Gold Coast. For people who like solving practical problems, working with their hands and dealing with customers face to face, it is a career that keeps you learning.
In Queensland, a plumbing apprenticeship combines paid work on the tools with formal training through a registered training organisation such as TAFE. Over the apprenticeship you build the skills and experience needed to work towards your licence. Torna takes on apprentices as the business grows, and we value people who turn up ready to learn, ask questions and take pride in getting things right. If you are thinking about starting, or you are partway through and looking for a change, tell us where you are up to.
Our work covers general plumbing, hot water, drains, gas fitting and maintenance for homes, rentals and businesses across Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Moreton Bay, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. If you hold a plumbing licence, with or without gas, and want to work somewhere that puts its name on every job, tell us about your experience and the work you enjoy.
Skills can be taught. Attitude is harder. We look for people who do the job properly even when nobody is checking, explain things to customers clearly and leave a site tidier than they found it. Those habits are why Torna has more than 100 five star Google reviews and offers a lifetime workmanship guarantee, and they are what we want every member of the team to carry on. Torna is led by Joseph Tornatore, a fully licensed plumber and gas fitter, QBCC 15519957.
