Plumbing in The Gap
The Gap is a leafy suburb in Brisbane's north-west, inside the Brisbane City Council area and backing onto bushland along its western edge. Most homes are detached family houses, many on sloping blocks, with plenty of renovations and extensions over the years. Sloping blocks and big trees bring their own plumbing jobs, from gutters full of leaves to stormwater pipes that have to cope with heavy summer storms.
A failing hot water system usually gives you signs first. A tank leaking from the base, water that comes out rusty or only lukewarm, or a relief valve that never stops dripping are all reasons to get it checked. Sometimes a single valve or element is the problem and a repair is all you need. Other times the tank has reached the end of its life and replacing it is the better spend.
