We will be upfront: our Sunshine Coast history is short, and we will not invent one. In March 2026 Joseph inspected a home in Nirimba with a moisture problem in the ceiling. He checked the Colorbond roof, flashings, penetrations and gutters, then the roof space from inside. There was no clear roof leak. The moisture was most likely condensation from heat building up in the roof cavity, so he recommended resealing the aged penetrations and adding ventilation rather than replacing roofing that did not need it.
Homes close to the beach are exposed to salty air, which can be hard on outdoor taps, exposed fittings and hot water systems installed outside. It is worth checking outdoor fittings for corrosion now and then, and keeping an eye on the base of an outdoor hot water tank for rust or weeping.
When a hot water system fails you can usually replace like for like or change type. Electric storage, gas storage, continuous flow gas and heat pumps each suit different households.
