Caboolture is the main centre of northern Moreton Bay, sitting on the Caboolture River with Morayfield running straight into it from the south. Homes range from older houses close to town to newer estates on the edges, along with a solid share of rentals. Our work here reflects that: leak investigations, rental repairs, roof water and the everyday taps and toilets every house needs.
In August we were asked to cut and cap the water line just past the meter at a Caboolture rental, to stop a leak the agency believed was on the property. Once we investigated, the picture changed. No private pipe was connected to the meter at all, the meter was loose and spinning, its isolation valve would not turn off and it was running constantly. That steady flow explained the soggy ground around it. The fault sat with the water authority, not the owner, so we stopped, recorded exactly what we found and passed it on.
Summer storms test every gutter in Caboolture and Morayfield. Blocked droppers, gutters that hold water and rust through, and downpipes that have come apart are all common. On one Morayfield job, gutter guard laid inside the gutter was trapping leaves instead of keeping them out, so we cleaned the roof line and removed it.
