Tarragindi is a leafy, mostly residential suburb in the Brisbane City Council area, sharing the 4121 postcode with Holland Park. It sits close to Holland Park, Greenslopes, Ekibin and Wellers Hill, and is known for family homes, many of them older houses that have been raised, extended or renovated. Plenty are now rentals, so we hear from owners and property managers alike.
A new hot water system is more than swapping one tank for another. The relief valve drain has to discharge to a legal point, the valves have to suit your water pressure and the unit needs proper clearances. On a recent Tarragindi install we found the old relief line emptying onto the slab beside the house. We explained the problem, the owner approved the fix on the spot, and we ran a new copper drain line to the nearest downpipe. Before any install we talk through tank size, electric, gas or heat pump, and where the unit will sit, so the system suits how many people live in the house.
Some Tarragindi properties have rainwater tanks, including tanks under the house or garage that feed toilets and laundries through a pump. When the pump fails, those fixtures can stop working. We replace failed pumps, including submersible pumps inside underground tanks, and fit switches that change over to mains water automatically when the tank runs low.
