Ormiston sits on the bay side of the Redlands, between Wellington Point and Cleveland, with Alexandra Hills just inland. It is a settled suburb with plenty of established family homes, so a lot of our work here is repair and renewal rather than new builds: bathrooms that have done their years, tapware that has worn out, and hot water systems getting towards the end of their life.
Tapware and shower mixers change models often, and cartridges for older ones can be difficult to get. That was the case on our recent Ormiston job, where the special order part that arrived did not fit. We explained the options honestly, and the owner chose to replace the mixer outright. Rather than break the shower tiles, we opened the wall from the room behind, fitted a new mixer and pipework, pressure tested everything and sealed it at the tiles.
