Boronia Heights is a residential suburb in the west of Logan City, bordered by Browns Plains, Hillcrest, Park Ridge and Greenbank. Most homes are family houses on suburban blocks, and the blocks get bigger towards Greenbank, where rainwater tanks and long downpipe runs are common. That is why a lot of our work in this corner of Logan happens outside the house rather than under the sink.
When roof water and surface water are not carried away, they collect against slabs, garages and retaining walls. The fix depends on the site. A surface pit catches water where it pools, slotted ag pipe in a gravel trench picks up water moving through the ground, and a new junction can tie both into the existing stormwater line. On one Greenbank block this year we laid twin lines about 60 metres along the fence to take a tank overflow to the back corner, where it could disperse safely.
A gutter joint dripping onto a verandah, a downpipe that has come apart at a join or a tank overflow emptying beside the house can all cause damage over time. Leaf eaters keep debris out of downpipes and tanks, and roof spreaders sometimes need moving so an upper roof does not dump water in one spot. We look at the whole path the water takes, from roof to tank to ground, before recommending anything.
Not everything is outdoors. We replace hot water systems, fix leaking taps, service toilets and connect gas appliances, as Joseph is a licensed plumber and gas fitter. If a drain inside is slow, a camera inspection shows what is going on, so you are not paying for guesswork. Outside, trenches are backfilled and the site is cleaned up before we leave.
